If you're not convinced on why you should engage an agency to kickstart your business Digital Marketing, or even Facebook Marketing & Advertising efforts, or adopt a holistic Digital Marketing Strategy for your business, I am going to give you 10 reasons on why you should start using Digital Marketing, or learn Digital Marketing.
Yes, I understand many people want to zoom in on Facebook Marketing or Instagram Marketing, and in this article, I hope to share a different perspective of digital marketing and an Integrated Digital Marketing Strategy.
In one of our recent Instagram Posts, we shared reasons why every business needs a Sales Funnel.
If you look closely in our Infographic below, you will see that after each STEP, from Step 1 to Step 4 (on the right) we made some remarks on common mistakes when businesses approach digital marketing.
1. It is easier to convert leads when you have a digital sales funnel.
Facebook and/or Instagram Marketing & Advertising are good for driving Website Traffic and Awareness to events, ebook downloads, webinar sign ups, or even your website.
The problem is, when a user lands on your website, many tend to browse more than the webpage you land them on, and once they click out of the page you land them on, you probably lost this potential customer lead that you could have, to follow up on.
Which is why, a landing page is essential in every Social Media Marketing & Advertising Campaign.
2. You need to know the digital marketing landscape so as not to THROW $$$ into Facebook and Instagram Ads.
You might think, alright, I will engage an agency to do it. But you need to know what is going on, so whether you hire an agency that charges you $200 or $500 per month, you know whether you're getting what you're paying for, and whether you want to do it on your own.
We have had more than 5 potential clients who called to ask about our pricing (although its on our website), and told us that an agency is charging them 10% of their total Ad Spend on Facebook, $200 per month, or $500 per month.
Learn it, and you will understand whether its possible to get the Ads up and running, monitor only for the first 2 to 3 months, and never bother about it again. That's what most agencies do when they charge that price.
3. It is a USEFUL & POWERFUL skill to have today.
Many business owners and HR managers need or want to hire a Social Media Marketing Executive or Manager, but do not know the correct questions to ask in the interview.
4. You can manage your own Social Media Ads
It is easy to manage Social Media Ads on your own, but it takes time and commitment to do it. Even if you do not know the whole process of setting it up, an agency can help, and after 3 to 6 months, if you're confident enough you can save the cost on retainer, and manage the Social Media Ads on your own.
5. Social Media Marketing & Digital Marketing is cheap marketing.
In my article above, I shared how much it cost in 2017 to reach 1,000 unique users, and the cost has 4X now.
Leverage on Digital Marketing while it is still cheap. This amount will skyrocket 5 to 10 years down the road.
6. Your customers are using the social media platforms, they are checking their emails everyday!
If you know that you have customers at a conference, and the conference allows you to setup your business both for $1,000 per day, will you pay the money to setup the booth for brand awareness and to get customers?
Your customers are using Facebook, Instagram, and checking their emails everyday, why are we not getting serious about Social Media Marketing & Advertising and Email Marketing with MailChimp and other email marketing softwares?
7. Social Media Marketing & Email Marketing is almost immediate
Once you have your Ad graphic done, use it to create an Ad on Facebook or Instagram, and the Ad gets approved within 1 hour to 24 hours!
Once you have your website done up, you can duplicate the website, update the text and graphics, and start driving traffic to your website to generate leads.
If you have an ebook done up, you can host the PDF ebook on Google Drive or Dropbox, and create a landing page with MailChimp or MailerLite (These platforms have FREE plans for you if you have a company email to create a FREE account)
8. Digital Marketing is 24/7, global.
You do not need an overseas marketing agency to market to an overseas audience, and you do not need to hire a staff to work overtime or send them overseas, because Social Media Ads can target overseas audience, and the Ads can run 24/7, while Digital Marketing can be automated!
9. Market while you're asleep.
The beauty about digital marketing is that it can be left active even if you're travelling or asleep!
Imagine if it is raining, how will you market or advertise with flyers?
TV Ads are expensive, TV Ads can only be shown at intervals during commercials. Most people only watch TV after work.
But with our mobile phones now, that's our new TV, we consume video content on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
With Instagram, Facebook or even Google Advertising, you can market and advertise rain or shine based on Gender, Age, Location and Search Intent (Google Ads & YouTube) or Interest (for YouTube, Instagram & Facebook).
10. An essential skill that every entrepreneur needs
Aside Data Analytical Skills, Social Media Marketing & Digital Marketing are one of the TOP WANTED SKILLS by companies BIG or SMALL.
If you are just starting out as an entrepreneur, you need to know what's going on, and this is not even a choice really.
